Review of A Christmas Story 2 (2012) by Jordan V — 19 Dec 2017
While I am a fan of the original '83 movie I found this version to be just as entertaining as it threw in references to both the movie and past pop-culture. Most teens or young adults can relate to Ralph in the sense of goals and situations. Trying to get the girl, getting a job we're not good at, and our dream car.
Daniel stern played a great "OLD man" and Randy was even better than the last movie. Flick still gets his tounge stuck to SOMETHING, Ralphie shouted "OH Fudge" and there was another thing that added to Ralph's character..his generosity. Showing sympathy to that homeless boy and then Giving his money away on a tire and dinner. Kid Ralph's wouldn't have done that!
The final icing on the cake was Christmas morning and the gifts that were passed out, the ship, the gift from aunt Claire and the exacting revenge for Ralph's on Randy! The new leg lamp! AND finally Ralph's new Mercury! (And Girlfriend).
It's not just a cheesy remake. In a different light it's a film that shows how even Ralph never quit and this time he won! People like this (including myself) find it inspiring and hopeful.
