Review of A Christmas Carol (1984) by Morgan S — 27 Jul 2006
This is most definitely the best version of the beloved tale, or at least my favorite one. George C. Scott is a perfect Scrooge, which is why I think this movie works so well. I mean, the story in itself is wonderful, but the adaptation is quite well, as far as I can tell.
Now, the direction, is somewhat lacking because it was made for television, but as far as T.V. movies go, it is actually not that bad at all. I think the direction warms up to me as the movie goes on.
I also really loved David Warner as Bob Cratchit, he played the part very well. Tiny Tim kind of creeps me out, but I thinkt that he did the part pretty well considering.
This movie is brilliant. There are so many versions of it, but I really do think that this is one of the ones to top the list.
