Review of A Christmas Carol (1984) by Stephen B — 17 Dec 2012
(4 Stars) George C. Scott is such an ideal choice to play Ebenezer Scrooge. Like all actors who have played Scrooge in A Christmas Carol, he fills the character with coldness but Scott's ruthless portrayal of him makes his reversal at the end of the film so much more heartfelt.
This 80's version of A Christmas Carol has a good ensemble cast, nice production values, and spooky around the parts dealing with ghosts. You can't go wrong with A Christmas Carol since the story itself is a classic, but this rendition is worth watching for Scott's performance.
