Review of A Christmas Carol (1984) by Josh U — 10 Nov 2010
The absolute definitive version of the story. George C. Scott makes the Scrooge character his own, and his raspy voice only adds to his amazing portrayal. And let's not forget a great supporting cast: Frank Finlay, Angela Pleasence, the late Edward Woodward, Michael Carter, Roger Rees, and Michael Gough, among many others.
The film was directed by the late Clive Donner, who also did editing on the 1951 Alastair Sim version of the same story. With the Holidays' approaching, this film is a must-see, for those who want a great holiday film.
