Terrible movie. Musicals have potential to be good, e.g. South Park, The King and I. But for this to happen they need a story/plot. A chorus line is a hour and fourty-some minutes of jobless auditioners telling someone about how they grew up, and painfully slowly discovering an extremely shallow background story between this director and one of the hopefulls.
