A Better Life is The Bicycle Thief for white American pro-immigration bleeding heart liberals, so, of course, I loved it. Demian Bichir was subtle and heartbreaking as a father who came to East L.A. from Mexico woring as a gardener and trying to make a better life for his angsty son while also avoiding deportation.
Father and son find themselves beginning to bond while going on a mission that will change their lives. Bring the tissue box!
