Review of A Better Life (2011) by Carlota M — 25 Mar 2013
Damien Bichir's performance is poignant to an unbelievable level.
The way we see Luis's attitude change as the story progresses is a really fine take on how teenagers are so conflicted with their hurt, their ambitions, their anger, the things they don't understand and their efforts to understand them.
The movies really shows how intricate human feelings are - people committing crimes to send money to their families, joining gangs to feel part of something, rejecting their families because they resent them.
