Review of A Beautiful Mind (2001) by R H — 04 Oct 2011
I was so delighted with this film that I read Sylvia Nasar's biography of Nash (upon which the film is based) over the weekend immediately after seeing it.
I was profoundly disappointed to find out the screenplay is far more fiction than truth. Nash has a brilliant mind but was an extremely unpleasant fellow. The worst fiction perpetrated was that his wife stood by him through his illness, she did not, and rightly so.
Issues of fact aside, this film was well constructed and acted.
