Review of A Beautiful Mind (2001) by Billy G — 09 Nov 2012
When I finally saw A Beautiful Mind, I was expecting a masterpiece. Instead, I got a movie whose basic story has been done before, many many times. Yes, I understand it's based on a true story, but even so the story is nothing to go apeshit about.
Typical "oh he's the crazy but brilliant guy" meets "OH NOES is there really a conspiracy?" A Beautiful Mind DOES, however, have some excellent acting from Russell Crowe, which prevents me from giving the film anything lower than three stars.
Not to say the movie is in the same boat as crap like Alone In the Dark, it just didn't capture me like it does others.
