Review of 976-EVIL (1988) by Stefán Birgir S — 11 May 2010
This is a great underrated horror film. Directed by Freddy Kruegr himself Robert Englund. The film is straight forward, it involves a good boy, someone who is picked on a lot getting the powers of hell in his hand and slowly losing himself to it. Its a sad thought when you think about it, he starts off as a sympathetic character, so much so that the beautiful Lezlie Deane finds him attractive a bit, even though she plays it as a bad girl type. Evil himself Stephen Geoffreys plays the main character and it cool how he transforms to a devil like character by the end. Now I have seen this film in a while, but my mind remembers just loving this film. So much so that the sequel fell so flat for me.
I would definitely say go see it, a DVD is rare to find, but if you can get it VHS or DVD I would say go for it. 4 out of 5 stars.
