Review of 976-EVIL (1988) by Kevin S — 17 Jun 2014
Robert Englund ( Freddy Krueger ) directs this very odd but chilling tale of a nerdy kid named Hoax who gets picked on regularly by bullies, has a religious freak of a mom and dreams of dating suzie. His life changes when cousin spike introduces him to this hot line that gives you your "horror scope".
It's demon like force takes over him and now whoever makes fun of him he gets revenge. Stephen Geoffreys who played Evil Ed in Fright Night is the main character and I must say after seeing that and this movie I am a fan of his work.
He does another great job in another great horror movie. He passed on making Fright night 2 to make this movie and although fright night 2 was good so was this movie. It's weird and often humorous but creepy nonetheless.
If you liked Stephen Geoffreys in Fright Night I suggest you watch this. And another plus is it's directed by another master of horror Robert Englund.
