Review of 88 Minutes (2007) by Christa N — 30 Nov 2009
Anyone who says that Pacino has lost his acting chops or says this film sucks needs to rewatch this film. Al Pacino has been seen playing many similar roles in the past decade, but look at where he is in his career. In the 70's and 80's he was the mob guy and now in the 90's and 00's he's plays various detective and cop type roles. His age also plays in a factor as to some of the films he has played recently. But that doesn't mean they are terrible, he does great either way.
Anyway on to the review; this film is fantastic. Its got the edge of your seat suspense, "the who done it" story and the time limit aspect. Not too mention several great performances.
I finally got to watch this film after years of just missing it off of TV and I'm happy I got to see it.
For those who didn't like the film I would like to know why, its intelligeant and fun to watch. If you are looking to be surprised and not fall into a film with cliches that is not happening. Movies have been around since 1896, not much left to surprise with.
Anyway, go see this film and just relax.
4 out of 5 stars.
