Review of 8 Mile (2002) by Kadeem S — 18 Nov 2012
I think Eminem really nailed it in 8 Mile. I got the movie on Blu-Ray and it was one of the best Hip-Hop movies I've ever saw. Eminem, for those of you don't know, has making platinum-selling albums while shedding some controversy including divorcing his wife, Kim, and dissing artists like Mariah Carey to Xtina.
But while shooting this movie, it all took place where Slim Shady grew up in Detroit, home of the Pistons and the Tigers. He spits a lot of fire in battle raps (more different than those Freestyle Friday moments on 106 & Park), he wanted to make a name for himself and that's why it was emotional and very esquisite to see what Em is handling right now.
Lose Yourself. love that song, I played it on my IPOD a million times. But I wished Brittany Murphy were here right now and thanked Eminem for all the support this movie was an inspirational touch with all the moments until her tragic death in 2010.
I think she'll be listening to that song wherever she is in heaven. I love 8 Mile. The best movie of 2002.
