Review of 8 Mile (2002) by Landon M — 10 Jul 2015
A very good "musical drama" if that is technically what this movie is. Eminem proves that he is able to hold his own movie. It is dramatic, intense at parts, funny at others. The music is great, and the chemistry between all the actors is fantastic.
The highlights are the fantastic rap battles that take place periodically, which is not only entertaining, but is a showcase for Mather's skills on the mic. Despite a few pacing issues, it's a good underdog story.
