A new Christmas classic is born. The movie makes you believe its another Jingle All the Way or A Christmas Story type movie but throws you a curve at the end to provide a bit more heart than either. Some will say its a cheap cheesy ploy.

I say you have become too cynical if that's how you interpreted it. If you grew up in the 80's you will love this movie and your kids will enjoy it too. For anyone else it may be a bit strange and you may not laugh as hard but you should still get the movies message, family.
