Review of 8-Bit Christmas (2021) by Valbal — 03 Dec 2021

Given the fact that most of the film takes place in the 80s I was expecting a slightly different approach similar to “Good Boys” (2019) because I was under impression that this movie is for those who feel nostalgic about the time and that console generation.

Unfortunately, this film is not rated R, which results in a childish humor and a very light tone. However, this lighter tone works for a family friendly Christmas movie that surprised me with its heart and moral message.

In times when kids grow up chasing materialistic things that supposedly could make them happy according to social media this movie teaches a very valuable lesson and also manages to be kind of fun.
