Review of '71 (2014) by Johnny K — 20 Aug 2015
Despite a lack of memorable supporting performances and some plot contrivances, '71 compensates with a solid turn from Jack O'Connell, some very well done scenes of turmoil (The riot is very well done), and polished cinematography.
For me it's one of the more disappointing films of the year, but those who like thrillers or movies about history will find a lot to enjoy. Verdict: B-.
