Review of 5 Card Stud (1968) by John A — 16 May 2013
Dean Martin Teams Up With Robert Mitchum, For This Enjoyable Film That's A Cross Between A Western & A Crime Thriller. The Film's Content Is A Western With Some Elements Of A Classic Crime Noir.
A Small Poker Group Catches A Card Cheat, & Decide To Lynch Him, A Few Days Later The Murders Starts. The Victims Are The Poker Group & Are Being Picked Of One By One. Gambler Dean Martin & Preacher Robert Mitchum Must Now Search For The Murderer. This Film Works & Although Slightly Predictable It's A Pretty Well Made Film. Sadly The Whole Romantic Interest Sub-Story Sort Of Slowed The Film Down And Was Not Needed.
