Review of 48 Hrs. (1982) by Sam F — 03 Aug 2009
This was a fun little buddy cop flick, made slightly fresh by the fact that they weren't both cops, nor were they buddies. Nolte is surly and nasty; Murphy is his charming self. Gunfights, fistfights, car chases - this movie has it all.
It doesn't have any big pretensions and it doesn't try to be more than it is - just plain entertaining. It succeeds, largely. It's not great, but it's slightly above average.
