Review of 47 Ronin (1994) by Charles V — 10 Apr 2014
The fact that this movie has become a box office bomb, due solely because of US, is a clear effect of the Miley Cirus, Kim Kardashian, reality show praising culture (if it can be called culture) currently blooming in the US.
Its little wonder why the vast mayority of artistic films come from foreign film producers and why the in US directors in the lines such as Michael Bay are not only prolific but successful. 47 Ronin is a masterpiece which few other other US films can match showing a good pace in the story, the strength discipline and culture of the Samurai.
It is a movie which will leave you caring for the characters, even if you dont allways agree with their views. The only fault of this movie is that it was not as long as it should have been allowed to be.
