Review of 47 Ronin (1994) by Alex M — 12 Jul 2014
I really enjoyed it, and quite strangely(maybe not), Keanu has nothing to do with it. he was serviceable but nothing special about him as the character, I would have liked another actor to have done something different with the character- the visuals, action and Hiroyuki Sanada and Tadanobu Asano's performances are the most interesting to watch.
It also helps that the story takes time to build, the editing isn't an mtv music video dictated by the tempo like we see with any standard modern action movie now, regardless if a contemporary set story or even period piece.
-some of the story sorta dragged here and there especially the tender scenes with keanu reeves's Kai but the action and great technical work behind everything more than made up for that. well worth the watch.
