Wow - this film can take you as deep as you can/are willing to go. The observations being made about human nature, men/women, and our roles in both the human and natural worlds appear and flee from scene to scene, just as they do in real life.
This is a great setting to tell this all too familiar story - especially for someone less familiar with the life (English country side) or characters (old, scarred couple that never learned to truly communicate).
But most of us can relate to being that couple, either with our spouses.
