Review of 0.45 (2006) by Leo K — 04 Nov 2008
Pretty good film with some very solid acting and highly interesting in places. The feel is definetly that of a slightly film noir style and it does well at delivering several "oh dear" moments, like Milla Jovovich's mother saying, in one of several interview styled vignettes that occur throughout the film, she doesn't know where she gets her inability to hold down a steady boyfriend before saying she herself has been with her 4th husband for nearly 3 years before said fat bastard waddles in and shouts at her aboot when she's going to cook dinner. Also Angus Macfadyen as Big Al is highly convincing as a psychotic wife beater. Some mention needs to also be given to the raunchy action, feauturing moderate lesbianism and alot of Milla nudity which is good, even if she is too thin and has nipples like purple pips.
At the end the twist is pretty much near unsurprising as it is alluded to earlier and it leaves you with a film that is a decent drama film but nothing particularly amazing and I'd rather of seen it on TV than bought it. Oh well, it's good enough.
