Review of 42nd Street (1933) by Jetta W — 31 May 2007
This was actually a very entertaining musical from the 30s. I was worried it would be one of those musicals trying to be grand and epic a la The Great Ziegfeld, but instead it was more down to earth and focused on the production of a theatre musical.
With so many minor characters it was a little difficult to follow some of the storylines, but it was still fun. And I loved the finale to death, when we finally see the production.
