Review of 42nd Street (1933) by Roy C — 07 Apr 2010
You're getting to be a habit with me~! Jones and Barry are doing a show! Bebe Daniels, Una Merkel, and Ginger Rogers are smokin', from baggy plaid to replacement monocle. Among the more notable aspects are the foldout train setpiece, leaving one's wife in a nightclub holding the check, rehearsal-rescue, and a live leading lady or dead chorus girl.
'Oh dear, not a calf in the carload.'.
