Review of 42nd Street (1933) by Benjamin W — 29 Jun 2012
Something about the "producing a musical" plot always appeals to me. And while it may be used again and again (most recently for the TV show, "SMASH"), it never fails to disappoint.
Plus, I know that minimalist sets may be "in" right now, but being able to see a train car split apart, the New York skyline appear out of nowhere, or a bunch of spinning chorus members from above really can't be beat.
