Finally got to see all of this film. The 3rd replacement disc shut down on me, too...and I tried it on my portable DVD player. I ended up watching it online and it didn't hiccup on NetFlix' site.
It was a good film and ended sadly and dark not only because of what Gabita did, but what she had to do to do to have the abortion and what Otilia did in order to help her and how that affected her and their friendship and her relationship with her boyfriend.
"Everything has its price" said the Bebe, is the understatement of the film.
