Review of 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days (2007) by Peter D — 28 Sep 2008
A moving film about two women - one very smart and strong, the other seemingly the opposite - trying to get an abortion for the second woman in Communist Bucharest. Relies very much on the performances of its cast, which is excellent.
I don't remember hearing any music or score throughout the entire film, but it didn't occur to me until after it had ended. Very subtle, with several long, unmoving takes, it's a powerful look at the desperation felt by two ordinary citizens in a Communist state.
