Ladies and gentleman, the golden age of cinema is back! This is one of the most harrowing movies in recent memory. No doubt a true character study with provocative subject matter and a piercing testimony to friendship and the indomitably of the human spirit.
Director Cristian Mungiu ensures tension with long unbroken takes which make Anamaria Marinca and Laura Vasiliu's performances all the more gut-wrenching. I think the viewers true test is trying to watch this movie again when they know of the disturbing acts.
