Review of 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days (2007) by Rash H — 05 Jun 2010
For some people, Romania is the rising power in cinema, some people even contest that it's the best place right now, chock full of artistic integrity. Personally so far I think it is more a matter of circumstance as we're talking about a misguided group of ex-commies who finally have the artistic liberty to do what they want, and yet still haven't changed any of their taboos or rules. Abortion, health care, etc, it's all very nice but eventually they'll finish their self-westernization and there won't be any material to grab from.
Either way, this is a brilliant movie and deserves all the credit it gets. Saddening and even better than last year's Death of Mr.L.
