Review of 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days (2007) by Ghazal S — 26 Jan 2011
Although the story is quite simple, it deals with issues, insecurities and dangers in lives of two Romanian girls quite perfectly. Mungiu is very successful in awakening all sorts of feelings in his audience during the movie.
Although "4,3,2" seems to be about abortion on surface, in depth it is about the friendship and unconditional love Otilia has for Gabita. The shots following Otilia toward the end of the movie is brilliant.
All in all, it is one of the most realistic and beautiful films I have seen this decade.
