Review of 3:10 to Yuma (2007) by Wayne K — 28 Aug 2015
A thoroughly entertaining movie that includes plenty of exciting action pieces without sacrificing character development or interesting dialogue. While it has its share of questionable narrative moments, none of them are severe enough to harm its overall quality.
The 2 leads, particularly Crowe, are what really drive the movie. They play off each other brilliantly, and each time they're together we learn a little more about each of them, and witness how their vastly discrepant lives don't mean they can't see something in the other that they can respect.
On the surface it may be a rather typical Western, but behind the ten gallon hats and six shooters is a tale of family, morality and honour.
