Review of 31 (2016) by Jordan H — 31 Aug 2016
Relentlessly brutal, dirty, gritty, mindless, mean spirited, graphically violent, and fun for the most part. Don't walk into this looking for much a plot or huge heaps of character development. It's essentially a love letter to the underground Grindhouse trash cinema of the 70's.
On that level it's a very enjoyable film. The film boasts fantastic sets, a mostly great cast, great ideas from old stories, but seriously way too much shaky cam; it was a little aggravating at times but I adjusted and got over it.
Not Zombie's best film but definitely not his worst. I'll be buying it on Blu-Ray.
