Review of 3000 Miles to Graceland (2001) by Omar L — 22 May 2011
3000 miles to Graceland is a music video director's first movie which he wrote and I can say I've seen music videos with more suspense than this film has. It's obviously inspired by Tarintino's films with its shootouts and dialogue, but comes no where close to the magic Quentin's movies have.
Part of the problem here is that this movie doesn't know what it wants to be or that the genres it covers don't quite work here with the comedy, action, and drama. The dialogue is pretty shallow as well.
The story is about two men who've have had a rough fallen out after one is betrayed by the other shortly after a heist they've pulled off in Vegas. The only reason I liked this movie is that the actors are all likeable enough to forgive the movie as a whole.
Kurt Russell and Kevin Costner have done much better and they're not particularly good here, but they're strangely likeable and just entertaining enough to skate by. Courtney Cox is the one actor that stood out the most for me and she pulled off her role very convincingly.
6/10 from me.
