Review of 300 (2007) by Arash A — 15 Jun 2013
The movie is visually ground-breaking and it embraces the gory war genre in comic-book form. Among other things, it's the best cinematic adaptation, representation of a comic book ever. The scores here also reflect something significant in the cultural approach that movie critics take compared to the cultural approach Snyder takes: the audience comes to see what Snyder provides while critics don't.
That is a problem for the 'institution' of movie criticism as it were, since this sort of scoring disparity is consistent with Snyder's movies. Why? I would like to know.
