I decided I ought to see the first 300 before I saw the second.
300 is based off of events that occurred in Ancient Greece. Basically, the Persian Empire is threatening to conquer Greece, so King Leonidas of the Spartans chooses his 300 best men to accompany him to fight the Persians. You should know that all of the 300 die in the end. It's not much of a spoiler. The point of the sacrifice was to show the rest of Greece that the only way to stop the Persians was to unite all of Greece.
I thought that 300 was a good action movie that is entertaining and has a good script. Many people complain about the unrealistic monsters in it, but the events are being shown as they were told on the account of Spartans in an exaggerated way.
This movie was shot mostly behind a green screen, which for the most part looked fine. It has a lot of special effects added.
The acting is also very good. Gerard Butler is awesome as Leonidas, and all of the 300 are great.
This is not for kids. There is a lot of violence, blood, and bodies. There is also some female nudity in it.
Overall, 300 was a fun movie that did what it was made to do and entertained audiences.
