Review of 3 Women (1977) by Alan H — 16 Mar 2008
Usually Altman makes films about tons of characters - not so much here. Slow but engaging because of the performances and atmosphere. Yet turns surreal at the end to suggest that is a good equalibrium for these lost characters.
Commentary helped me understand this much better and (Altman dreamt the premise) and discusses Altman's collaborative, organic approach that made the unique tone for this movie. Similarities to "The Talented Mr. Ripley.".
