Robert Altman shot this without a script, based on a dream he had. The film is about two women really, one of whom takes on a secondary personality briefly after coming out of a coma. Its a movie about weirdos.
..women that don't fit in and need one another to complement their oddities. The third act especially becomes almost a horror film...the dull colors, reptilian paintings and slow narrative really builds up the tension and makes the experience very disturbing in a unique way.
