Review of 3 Women (1977) by L Chase S — 02 Sep 2008
What a strangely mesmerizing film from Robert Altman. I've never seen anything else quite like it & you will either love it, hate it, or be drawn back to it to try & decipher its meaning. A friend who is a film student told me Altman based it on a dream he had which is the only thing that makes sense.
Sissy Spacek, Shelley Duvall, & Janice Rule turn in hauntingly subdued performances. Worth another watch.
