Review of 28 Weeks Later (2007) by Corey R — 01 May 2012
Much gorier than the first, this is a excellent sequel with some good performaces...some scenes are silly but to see London empty again is a joy. The helicopter scene is the highlight! Relentlessly grim and grisly, 28 Weeks Later is not for the faint of heart.
But its provocative post-apocalyptic theme makes for a smart and deeply unsettling film. The American's helping was somewhat a good addition on helping re-build England, I just hope they don't take it across the seas if they were to do another one.
28 later films are a British genre and should keep it that way. Though the cast are great you sometimes feel that you wanted them to be killed off. Wembley deserted was weird to look at but proves that not everywhere is safe.
Ver gory and a good sequel. Although the film ends with the "Rage" going across France, it would be interesting to see what other countries would do and only because America have done loads of these, it feel oh so-so.
Still, it was a risk to do a sequel but manages to pull it off.
