Review of 28 Weeks Later (2007) by Pablo C — 24 Mar 2013
This combined with "28 Days Later" provides the best one-two punch in horror since "Alien" and "Aliens". Like "Alien", "Days" was an atmospheric and on edge horror film with dashes of extreme violence in between the dreaded silence.
And now like âAliensâ?, â28 Weeks Laterâ¦â? brings back the creatures from the first film and goes for some relentless fast-paced action featuring army dudes with big guns. There are a few plotholes, but it's mostly forgivable and nothing major and you'll probably be too caught up in the tension to notice until afterwards.
The film is very well made for a horror sequel, with some good performances from actors that you've probably seen but don't know their names. The awesome musical score gets your heart pounding, and even though the shakycam thing has been done to death recently, it works well with the material and although it can be a bit disorienting the action is still clear.
Anyway, bite into this if you're a fan of "Days" or action-horror in general; it's worth it.
