Review of 28 Days (2000) by Dave M — 02 Jul 2008
This movie is amazing! Even though the movie is very much a drama, Sandra Bullock is hilarious in her role as Gwen. She brings humor to the movie, which I loved about it. If the movie had no humor in it I would not have loved it as much as I did.
The story is just very touching, how she comes to rehab and thinks it's stupid at first but then starts to really want to get better. I love how she made friends the other patients in her group, even the ones she didn't like at first.
My favorite relationship in the movie was between Gwen and Eddie. I thought it was so sweet how they became so close throughout their time in rehab. I hated how their relationship was in the end of the movie, with her being mad at him when she's leaving rehab; I'm really glad that he chased her car when she was leaving to tell her that he was sorry and that he loved their friendship and that her boyfriend Jasper was dangerous to her.
I really wish they'd had some follow-up in the movie about Gwen and Eddie, like maybe in a couple years they meet again or something, at least that if they couldn't just stay friends in the present.
This is a great movie and I'm so glad I saw it!
