Review of 25th Hour (2002) by Just? V — 08 Apr 2010
Spike's closest thing to a real movie. He, for the most part, ignores his typical MO of race relations and instead focuses on the dynamic between a group of friends on the night before one of them goes to prison.
This is my favorite of Spike Lee's films, and it has an especially outstanding cast (Edward Norton, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Barry Pepper, Rosario Dawson, Brian Cox). Anna Paquin is a little annoying, but when isn't she?
