Review of 25th Hour (2002) by David U — 23 May 2012
Interesting and retrospective movie where Norton must reflect on some things before going to jail the next morning after being busted for drugs by the DEA. Set to the haunting backdrop of post 9/11 New York, every actor and actress makes great work in the movie.
The usual Spike Lee annoyances flash sometimes, like an F-something moment that has been in I don't know how many Spike Lee joints. Though the best might be Norton's whole monologue where he fire bombs the whole enitre city of New York with F-Bombs from every nationality, race, creed and color and standard of living.
Plus, Barry Pepper makes up for the debacle that was Battlefield Earth.
