Review of 25th Hour (2002) by Aleksis S — 09 Nov 2013
Until recently, I had never considered 25th Hour in terms of its director, and I did not, in fact, realize until today that the film was directed by Spike Lee. Since I tend to categorize movies my director, not placing a film within a director's oeuvre is a rarity for me.
But there is something so complete about 25th Hour that does not need to be placed next to other films on a shelf. It stands alone as an astonishing character study of a man who knew he was taking all the wrong turns but took them nonetheless.
