Review of 24 Hour Party People (2002) by Chris W — 06 Oct 2007
Winterbottom's portrayal of the Manchester music scene, from Joy Division to The Happy Mondays, is an engaging, sometimes funny, sometimes tragic, but always entertaining drama, with a clutch of mesmerising performances.
Coogan and Considine are standouts, and the digital camerawork works insanely well with the material. Given the subject matter, Cracking soundtrack need not be mentioned.
