Review of 24 Hour Party People (2002) by Matthew B — 29 Dec 2008

Its a superb film, and the music is fantastic. Problem is, it feels like so much of the story has been edited out to narrow the running time down. Look out for Joy Division taking to the stage for the first time, its brilliant, but the virtually no refernce to New Order at all, criminal! If you're gonna watch the DVD, make sure you watch the deleted scenes, this proves my point.

And finally, Alan Partridge (Or was it Steve Coogan playing Tony Wilson, its hard to tell!) gets it spot on at the end of the film; 'You were right about Mick Hucknall, his music's crap, and he's a ginger!' Good film, but could've been better!
