Review of 24 Hour Party People (2002) by Paul N — 17 Dec 2011
The story of factory records from the perpective of founder member Tony Wilson, played by coogan playing alan partridge again. Its a fair comparison, as tony wilson is much akin to partridge in that he's middle class toff trying to be cool but only ending up a idiot.
The film is informative, irrelevant, sporadic, dark and gritty, but often very funny, merely due to the factual incidents that wilson allowed to happen. Also the film adds curiousity to where other acters in the film would end up, none more so than paddy considine playing type as nutter rob gretton.
