Review of 2:37 (2006) by Tristan G — 18 May 2009
Brilliant take on the hellish dramas of high school students. Acting is virtually flawless, my favorite performance being delivered by Teresa Palmer, who plays Melody.
My only major criticism is that the plot is overly ambitious for its restricted 1h30min timeframe. The lives of each of these six individuals are so intricate that I would have made a separate film for each of them. It's a shame that there is no closure to their problems once the film ends, but are rather overshadowed by yet another drama.
Still highly recommended, though, for its unique style. Just don't watch it when you're feeling down; it's a truly depressing film.
