Review of 2:37 (2006) by John B — 21 Apr 2008
I went into this movie fulling expecting to hate it, seeing as how it's always compared to Elephant, which is a steaming pile of self congratulating fecal volcano cake. However, this movie has all the good things about Elephant from a technical standpoint, without any of the forced (and failed) attempts at artistry.
Instead, we get to see a movie that cleverly goes about expressing an actual message and providing a storyline at the same time. Quite impressive really, this movie could have been a total disaster given the subject matter.
